to visit

Norris the dog returned to Washington for a visit last week. Post office patrons may remember Norris from his days as a puppy, lounging around the post office. He used to greet patrons, sticking his head into their post office boxes when they opened them up. Now he's all grown up.
A full time professional, Norris is now a trained and seasoned seeing eye dog, living and working in Peachtree City, Georgia, where he is employed by college student Alice Stacey.
Postal clerk Nina Shepardson raised Norris from a puppy. She volunteers with the Guiding Eyes for the Blind seeing eye dog training school. Volunteers like Shepardson take in puppies from the school, and take care of them for the first two years of their lives.
