and created various crafts out of bamboo. The children also learned how to recognize patterns found in nature - like the intricate geometric shapes that a honeycomb forms.

They also studied stream and pond ecology, and collected “critters” to put in aquariums made by the campers.

Learning started on the first day when campers were asked to save any leftovers from lunches so that they could start a compost pile which would decay into rich soil.

The campers also learned about botany, and made natural water colors which they ’used to paint pictures.
