Leonard was a first honors student who, among other things, played lacrosse, soccer, cross-country, and basketball, appeared in the annual school plays, was Vice President of the Student GoVjemment in his senior year, JClass Salutatorian, and a member of the Junior Classical League.
On Veteran’s j Day 2004, WCDS named its' auditorium in Leonard’s honor; and former United States Senator Charles Robb presided over the dedication ceremony, during which time the establishment of the scholarship was announced.
