One of the area’s most picturesque villages will host the Mint Hill Fire and Rescue Company’s annual carnival and parade, beginning with opening night for the carnival on Wednesday, July 27.
Now entering its 51st year, the Flint Hill carnival and parade has become a tradition and offers just about everything for a fun evening— carnival rides, games, blue grass bands, BBQ, and an old-fashioned parade that will feature beauty queens, drum and bugle corps, festive floats, antique cars and firefighting equipment—new and old.
Willie Rader of West Virginia Amusements who put on the Amissville’s popular carnival last month is bringing many of his popular rides to Flint Hill as well.
With the help of many dedicated volunteers, Bill Jarrett, president of the Flint Hill Fire and Rescue Company, has worked diligently to plan and stage an exciting event for kids, adults, and the young at heart.
A new event expected to draw crowds on Wednesday’s opening night will be a “Celebrity Dunking Booth” that offers everyone a chance to dunk your favorite notable and help raise funds for the fire-company.
The annual Flint Hill carnival is the fire and rescue company’s principal fundraiser for the year.
