‘Celtic Spring’ to

perform March 4

Anticipating a change in the seasons, the Theatre at Washington, Virginia, presents a concert on Saturday, March 4, titled “Celtic Spring”.

Linn Barnes and Allison Hampton have brought their acclaimed multi-instrumental performances of Celtic music to the Theatre each fall for several years. This year, a spring concert has been added to their schedule, along with an additional musician, Joseph Cunliffe. Cunliffe will be playing alto and bass flutes, recorders, and the Irish whistle. Barnes and Hampton play the harp, Irish bagpipes, lute, mandolin, viola da gamba and guitar.

Joseph Cunliffe has given performances and recorded with Barnes and Hampton and the group “Celtic Consort” for more than 15 years, and can be heard on several of their CDs. Altogether, Cunliffe is featured on more than five dozen CDs. He has recorded film music for the BBC, and the Discovery Channel, and he has numerous radio, TV and film documentary appearances to his credit. He tours extensively in this country and abroad with liis group Flutar.
