For Dos Allen and Alex Sharp, the Group A Bull Run District wrestling tournament could be classified as a tuneup.
“I have to get ready for all of the tough matches at states,” said Allen, who captured the 145-pound championship Saturday afternoon at Manassas Park. “So you want to wrestle smart, not give up any stupid points.”
The Rappahannock County High School seniors stuck to that strategy and joined three teammates in qualifying for the Region B tournament, which will be held Saturday at Strasburg. Opening round matches start at 10 a.m., with the championship finals set for late in the afternoon.
