Rappahannock County was treated to a performance of the internationally recognized Audubon Quartet at the Flint Hill home of Dr. Robert Clements. “This was the best day of my life,” said Clements after the performance.
The Audubon Quartet consists of Ellen Jewett and Akemi Takayama on violin, Doris Lederer on viola, and Clyde Shaw on cello. For Sunday’s performance, they were joined by David Wiley on piano. The Audubon Quartet, founded by cellist Shaw in 1974, has performed all over the world, and was the first American string quartet to win a first prize in international string competition.
