Giddy up
One of her occupations is a carriage driver.
“I’ve had a passion for it ever since I was a little girl,” smiled Adams. Adams has been doing this professionally for six years with “Harmons Hayrides and Carriages.” They are located in Brandy Station. Adams also washes and grooms the horses. On the day of a special event she will braid the tails and mane and polish their hooves and harnesses. Then it is time as a driver to put on the top hat and gloves. Rain or shine, Adams arrives at the event and brings joy to all.
“It is really great to be a part of such a special time whether it is a wedding, party or a surprise. The horses bring smiles to everyone as we clip-clop our way around,” laughed Adams.
Help with a house
Adams, who is a detailoriented person and has a background in customer service which she acquired from a 15 year career as an airline employee, also works as a realtor. She will search high and low and go that extra mile to find the perfect home for her clients. Adams works for Weichert Realtors with “The Gainesville Team”. They provide personalized service with team support. Her clients also get a free carriage ride which is a great way to celebrate the sale or purchase of a home.
Adams lives in Amissville with her husband, Bart and her son, Zackary, with their yellow lab and two horses. She enjoys the theatre, art and movies on the big screen.
When Adams is on her mail route through the countryside, it makes her realize that nature provides beauty for all of us to see.
“It is very enlightening and real,” said Adams. “The people of this area are so kind and generous. They bring such nice treats to the post office. I don’t think I’ve ever tasted such great homemade candy and cookies in all my life,” chuckled Adams who will often have a plate to share.
“You can see also that everyone has respect for the land here. Wp need to protect it, God isn’t making anymore of it. We are all truly blessed for being able to experience Washington,” continued Adams who has found a home in Rappahannock that is close to her heart.
