Peeper?
On February 17, the Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible “peeping tom.” A female resident of Amissville reported that she was home alone at night when through a window she saw a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt standing on her porch.
The complainant’s home is on a large stretch of private land, and the only entrance is a secure gate, leading the Sheriff’s Office to believe that the trespasser was on foot. County Sheriff Larry Sherertz is particularly concerned because this report is similar to a string of peeping incidents that happened in Amissville almost five years ago.
“There were four to six incidents within a six month period, but then they just stopped,” recalled Sherertz. No arrests were made in connection with the previous crimes.

On February 14, at around 6:00 p.m., Trooper Derrick Mauck responded to an accident near the entrance to Sunnyside at the Schoolhouse in Sperryville.
Malcolm Webster, 59, of Buckhannon, WV lost control of his Ford F350 and ran off the right shoulder of eastbound 211, striking an embankment. Webster’s truck sustained $1,000 in damages and Webster complained of minor injuries.
