The Rush River, for us, our children and our grandchildren, is a source of recreation. During limited weeks when the water is sufficiently high and warm, we fish and wade; occasionally residents and visitors alike float the river on rafts or in tubes.
We delight at the herons that also fish there and at two bald eagles nesting near the Hunter Road Bridge that crosses the river at our property line. In short, it would be profoundly sad if a decision made in haste would ruin this delicate balance of nature-a reason many have settled or have lived much of their lives here.
