The Rappahannock Nonprofit Center and Lord Fairfax Community College are pleased to announce a 4-day workshop on QuickBooks Training for Nonprofits. When RNPC conducted a stake holders meeting some time ago, one of the top requests was for a workshop on QuickBooks and how to use its applications at a nonprofit or community organization. After collaborating with Rappahannock County Public High School and Lord Fairfax Community . College, RNPC has set the dates for March 9, 16, 23, and * 30 from 4:00pm until 7:00 each day. Rappahannock County Public High School will host the training in their business department’s computer laboratory, giving students handson training. The fee for the workshop is $180 and covers all material. The Rappahannock Nonprofit Center is underwriting the cost of the workshop to keep the cost under $200. Veteran QuickBooks instructor Diane Wheeler will spend four afternoons with the students teaching them how to use QuickBooks Pro Accounting Software at a nonprofit. Some of the areas that will be covered are setting up a chart of accounts, using bank account registers and reconciling accounts, paying bills, receiving donations and keeping track of pledges. Ms. Wheeler will also introduce the class to QuickBooks’ letter writing feature and explain how this feature can be used to communicate with your donors. QuickBooks’ payroll features will be covered and students will leave the class knowing how to access and the reports feature and use it to generate reports for grant writing purposes and board reporting purposes.
