Duxbury was giving blood this past week at the Washington Fire Hall where the Red Cross periodically conducts its drives. When the next one is scheduled, Bob Duxbury will know about it - the Red Cross sends out cards to the regulars - and he will be there.
Red Crass officials, as you might expect, are delighted to have Duxbury show up at the drives. Red Cross Donor Recruitment Supervisor Tammy Berfield told the Rappahannock News, “With each pint of blood he donated having the potential of touching up to three lives, it is quite possible that Mr. Duxbury helped as many as 552 people with those 23 gallons he has donated.”
Speaking of all the folks who give in this fashion, Berfield added, “Without them we would not be able to do what we do here at the Red Cross.”

By the way, Duxbuiy’s blood type is O-positive, which just happens to be another way one would describe this sturdy fellow.
