What better way to start out the new year than with some good news and cause for celebration.
Officially announced on Jan. 6, a new partnership has been implemented between Culpeper Regional Hospital (CRH) and the University of Virginia Medical Center (UVAMC).
Under the terms of the partnership, UVAMC will invest $40 million in CRH over a three-vear period, as needed. This will equate to a 49 percent investment in CRH which will remain an independent, not-for-profit hospital with an independent board of trustees.
The idea of partnering makes good sense in today’s health care environment where the costs of medical technologies and facilities are increasing, coupled with diminished health care funding and reimbursements. The Culpeper area is a fast-growing region and there is competition from other hospitals
