The Lions Club is introducing a new event which members hope will become an annual celebration and bigger and better each year.

It is a Saint Patrick’s Day parade and celebration on Saturday, March 14 throughout the Town of Washington.

The parade, which starts at 11 a.m., will include the Rappahannock County High School Marching Band, bagpipers, classic cars, fire trucks, floats and much more.

At noon there will be an Irish luncheon catered by David Huff at the Washington Fire Hall.

Entertainment includes traditional Irish pub music, Irish step dancers, singalong, stories and music by King Golden Banshee, an Irish band from Charlottesville.

There will be a raffle for special prizes.

Reservations for the luncheon are required. Tickets will be sold by Lions members in advance. Proceeds will benefit community programs support
