garten through fifth grade classes. Vaught rents skates, pads and helmets and with the help of numerous parental volunteers gets each student up and rolling for the entirety of their PE class. Vaught says the American Heart Association touts rollerskating as one of the best forms of aerobic exercise. It is also low impact and it aids in the development of lower body strength.

Graduates 1 offer advice

Three graduates from Wakefield’s 2008 class visited recently and spoke to grades one through 12 about their experience attending their first semester of college.

Alex Shafran (University of Richmond), Matthew Wingfield (Virginia Tech) and Joy Heddleston (Liberty University) expressed the joys and challenges of college.

The three students all expressed gratitude for their Wakefield education and how well it had prepared them for college life,' both academically and socially.
