Washington Volunteer Fire and Rescue is hosting an All You Can Eat Breakfast on Saturday Jan. 17 from 7 to 11 a.m., at the fire hall. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 4-11. Luther King
The community is invited to the 18th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration in Rappahannock on Sunday, Jan. 18, at 4 p.m., at The Theatre, Gay Street. Washington. This year's program features the youth of our community with presentations from Hearthstone School, Wakefield Country Day School, Divine Life Ministries, and Rappahannock County High School. The featured speaker is Professor Craig Barton, University of Virginia and architect for the Scrabble School Preservation Project. A special guest is Mike Nelms, former team member of the Washington Redskins, who will assist with the awarding of MLK essay competition winners.
The MLK observance is sponsored each year in cooperation with The Theatre at Little Washington and the Julia E. Boddie Scholarship Committee. There is no fee; however, free will donations are taken in support of the scholarship.
Jan. 19: RLEP

The Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection will hold a meeting on Monday. Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. in the Rappahannock County Library. Social time begins at 6:30 p.m. All are encouraged to attend to learn more about helping RLEP in its work to sustain and enhance the county's natural resources and rural character.
