Always striving for excellence
When it comes to education and training, Karrie Giger really knows how to set the bar. She recently earned her doctorate degree in physical therapy, had an article published in a medical journal, and was certified in spine therapy by the McKenzie Institute. She’s also certified in strength and conditioning, weight management, and will soon be.certified in pelvic physical therapy—a specialization that came in handy as she helped develop our new Women’s Physical Therapy program.
Physical therapy is a changing science, so we can’t afford to go stagnant,” Karrie explains. "I’m constantly taking courses because there are so many different diagnoses and impairments to learn about.”
Karrie is never alone in her quest for excellence. In fact, that’s one of the' things she likes most about working for Fauquier Health.
“I love the camaraderie here, and I like that everyone has so many different specializations. If there’s something I’m not familiar with, I feel very comfortable asking my coworkers for help.”
