People pass bv Hackley’s Store everyday, some stopping, others speeding on to some other destination. Just another country general store. But unlike every other store in the county, this one’s been here 75 years.
Last week, Dorothy Hackley, whose inlaws first opened the store, was told by her nephew Brad Nicholas, current store manager, that he was not renewing the lease; he was closing the store.
The reason: The economy.
