Because Virginia strives to have a solid cross section of students from across the state, there is an unspoken limit as to how many hum one region are granted admission.
In many years, Rappahannock County has had just two or three prospective graduates gain admission to Virginia.
“It’s still a little surreal,” Tupper said. “It looks like we’ll have a little piece of Rapp there.”
Having the opportunity to continue their long-time friendships at the same university is something that all four treasure.
Tupper and Massie met at age four at the Child Care and Learning Center in Washington. When she presented a biographical Powerpoint to her AP English Language class a week ago, Massie included photographs of the two in class, as well as at her fifth birthday party.
