Some weeks ago, I was
in Seattle and looked
for my preferred local newspaper, the PbstIntelHgencer. It was nowhere to be found; its doors had closed. Shortly thereafter, it was reported that the Boston Globe was discontinuing its printed edition at the instructions of its owner, The New York Times Company. Next came a report that Leesburg Today was bankrupt. I also learned that Denver’s Rocky Mountain News had succumbed. And I noticed that my favorite Newsweek was far thinner than it used to be.
