Department of Animal Care/Control has a part-time job opening for Animal Care Technician (Mobile Vehicle) at the Animal Shelter near Waterford, VA. Must enjoy working with, canng for animals, be people-orientated, self-motivated, and dedicated to improving the welfare of animals. Duties- include preparation of the shelter's 33' mobile adoption vehicle for adopttorvoutreach events, cleaning cages/ kennels in the animal shelter, feeding animals, administering medications, socializing and bathing of animais. Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate use of the mobile vehicle during evening hours and on weekends. High School diploma and one year of job-related experience. Basic knowledge of and experience handing dogs, cats and other companion animais is required. Must possess a valid driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record. Must be comfortable driving a large vehicle. Must have the ability to control large and potential dangerous animals over 100 pounds and lift animals weighing up to 75 lbs. Successful candidate witl undergo a background investigation, physical exam and drug screening. Candidate wiH be required to obtain certification in Incident Command System 100 & 200.
