If walls could talk, the ones at the Orlean Store would have a short but heartfelt greeting for its Rappahannock and Fauquier clientele.

Months after it was shuttered last year, the 150-yearold country market on Leeds Manor Road reopened to a clientele hungry for more than homemade sandwiches cm June 1. The shop has long served as a local gathering place and deli, a one-stop shop for refueling of every sort.
Owners Brenda and Peter MacMurray and business partner Roland Word have recreated the historic country market in a modem century, adding green touches such as recycled and biodegradable products and making wide use of local farm products and bakery items.
“Go Green in Orlean” is Peter MacMurray’s motto.
