These scholarships — exclusive of Alabama’s — are awarded by local individuals and charities for the post secondary education of Rappahannock high school students. They cover far more than tuition at four-year institutions. v ,, RPM Memorial Scholarship and an Uncle Kellys Clean Slate Scholarship will help Joseph Wenk achieve his dream of attending the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, Ariz.
Passion Awards donated by the Hilscher family in memory of their daughter Emily, are given to those students who in the eyes of their teachers share Emily’s passion for life.
This year, Hannah Rosenbaum received a Passion Award to travel to California to visit two schools, The University of Santa Cruz and Whittier College, to decide which of the two to attend. Jessica Boute and Morgan Cloud will be attending the baking and pastry workshop at Johnson and Wales with their awards. Carly Day will be trying out the Naval
