O’Connell has served on the town’s Architectural Review Board (ARB) for 21 years and as its chairman for the last five.

In other action, the council voted unanimously to permanently move its regular monthly meeting from the second Wednesday of the month to the second Monday, starting Jan. 11.
Leggett said the move was made to insure that news and public notices would reach townspeople sooner via the Rappahannock News.
The paper’s Wednesday afternoon editorial deadlines have for years delayed published reports of Town Council meetings until Thursday of the following week.
