Position provides continual direction oversight of aquatic operations and programming, assists the center manager with developing implementing policies and procedures Responsibilities include completion of daily site safety checks, pool inspections, minor maintenance and repairs according to Virginia Department of Health requirements and ensuring a safe, clean, secure, aesthetically pleasing environment Develops updates pool operating policies, safety requirements, emergency procedures and lifeguard staff training manual Promotes and implements programs for lap and leisure pools, including rentals, open swim, aquatic instruction and fitness, swim meets and special events Recruits, trains, and certifies qualified temporary pool staff Manages staff performance in accordance with Human Resources policies. Maintains (.'PR and first Aid training certifications to be able to instruct other staff and to serve as a first responder. Provides high quality customer service ensuring that all poo! staff respond to customer service needs. Must be willing to work a very flexible schedule. This position is regularly scheduled to supervise entire Ret Center operation as Manager on Duty on assigned shifts. Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management. Recreation and Leisure Services or related field with a minimum of two years experience in aquatics programming and pool facility management working with the public Experience must include one year supervisory experience in an aquatics env ironment and must be indicated on application for consideration. Position requires Loudoun County Pool Operators license or ability to obtain within 2 weeks of hire. American Red Cross (ARC) or equivalent Lifeguard certification, (ARC required within 60 days of hire) WSI, (PR. first Aid. and CPR/First Aid Instructor certifications All required certifications must be indicated on application to be considered for recruitment. Preferred qualifications include additional training and or experience related to building systems, to include HVAC and pool mechanical systems. Successful candidate will undergo Credit.
