The good steward
Larry Weaver is not your average, run-of-the-mill electrician. He's a top-notch technician, creative problem solver, and a model of good stewardship. When he’s not busy installing TV receptacles in patient rooms, adding electrical outlets in offices, keeping wiring up to code, and replacing pole lights, he’s busy planting flowers, picking up debris from the parking lots, and figuring out new ways to save our hospital money.
“Nowadays, especially when it comes to light bulbs, you can accomplish more with less,” Larry explains. “High-intensity bulbs bum a lot of electricity and have a very short life. Going green is the obvious thing to do because it results in better lighting and more cost efficiency.”
Besides saving money and energy, Larry also places a priority on putting the needs of our patients first. He recently postponed a vacation because there was a problem with one of our emergency backup generators.
"The hospital needs both of its generators, in case anything should happen with the street power,” he says. "I like vacations, but I would never think of going away when one of our generators was riot up to par.”
