She’s svelte, sassy and sophisticated. She’s smart. And she’s ready for prime time.
Samantha Casey, 21, crowned Miss Virginia USA and headed for April’s Miss USA pageant in Las Vegas, has a non-stop schedule these days but is ready to take it on.
“There are many days when you only get a few hours sleep," said Casey, “but the adrenaline rush is exciting. It’s a lot of work, but it’s fun.”
As a sophomore at Highland School in Warrenton, Casey, of Jeffersonton, competed in the Miss Teen Virginia competition while maintaining high grades and participating in sports. She was also active in Students Against Destructive Decisions <SADD). In her third try for the crown, Casey, at 17, garnered the Miss Teen Virginia title as a senior.
Then it was off to college at her long-time favorite school, William and Mary. Now, a senior, with just a few classes left to graduate, Casey stepped back into the spotlight to capture the coveted Miss Virginia USA crown.
“I’m such a planner," said Casey, “and I’m very focused and right now, its different because there is so much up in the air”
Casey has a cast of supporters ranging from her parents, John and Laura, to her professors and classmates at William and Mary. She also relies on support from her manager
