Do you have to be reminded or do you already have in mind the inspiring occasion we will be celebrating this Sunday? It 'is of course Easter, the greatest festival of the Christian church. Though Easter has no exact date it is held in memory of the resurrection of Christ and ranging from March 22 to April 25. The date of Easter is usually decided by the first Sunday after the first full moon in spring. The name is taken from Eastre in honor of Anglo-Saxon, goddess of spring.
Prayer and fasting precede^ Easter in remembrance of the forty-days fasting Jesus did in the desert. One of the moBt elaborate church services is the Sunrise Service held on Easter morning. Easter Monday is also a legal holiday in Canada, though it is not in the United States.
