Mrs. Catherine Thompson
Mr.-. Catherine Thompson, 85, widow of Ned Thompson, died at the home of Frank Joiliff in Culpeper, where sue had been making her home for the past .‘!0 years, on Friday mroning, .March 51, after several years of declining health.
She was the daughter' of the late Festus Hitt and Mary Smith Hitt of C.lpeper county.
Graveside services were held Sunday afternoon in the Hitt family cemetery near Rixeyville. The officiating minister was Rev. E. H. L. Snellings of Gourde me Baptist church, where she had been a member for a number of years.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by a sister, Mrs. Joe Settle of Viewtown, a brother, Edward F. Hitt, of Rixey\ iile, and a niece whom she raised from early childhood and a number of other nieces and nephews.')
Pallheareis were nephews, Roy Iliit, Archbe llitt, Rayimoul Hitt, Joseph Shiflett, Lewis Anderson, and Pete Settle. Honoiary pallbeareis were Eddie Martm, II. R. Woodward, A. W. Settle, \V. R. Ruff. B. F. Joiliff, Walter Pune, 1'T. H. Ft/, ami Ray Sutphin.
