Barbara Griffith, Reporter On Monday evening, October 27, the General Music Class of R.C.H.S. attended a concert by the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra at the Mosque in Richmond, conducted by Eugene Ormandy. This was the first time for most of us to see and hear a large orchestra. This symphony is made up of 113 outstanding musicians and we are particularly impressed with Mr. Ormandy’s skill in conducting. * . ,.-'j
We plan to make this the beginning of our musical jaunts to see and hear live concerts. Members of the party were Peggy Pillar, Peggy Green, Bobby Massie, Winfrey Thornhill, Louise Johnson, Mrs. W. A. Gentry, Miss Louise Schwartz, Paul -Nichols, and Miss Charlotte Golladay.
At a meeting of the Northern Triangle Federation Club held October 14 at Luray the Rappahannock F.F.A. Chapter had the honor of having one of the officers for the coming year. The officers for the club were elected from five F. F. A. Chapters. Douglas Martin will serve as secretary of the dub, representing Rappahannock F.F. A. Chapter. The Chapter is one hundred per cent behind Douglas, hoping that he will make a successful officer for the Federation Club.
Miss Dorothy Bland and Mrs. Barbara Gentry have returned to their teaching positions after having attended the Virginia Education Association convention in Richmond. The convention was very educational and interesting.
