Charles L. Burke
Charles L. Burke, 80, passed away in the Lewis Nursing Home in Winchester, October 20, after a long period of illness.
Mr. Burke was the son of the late Mary Elizabeth Jenkins Burke and the late Gabe Burke of Rappahannock County, He is survived by ten chil»" dren, four preceeded him in death. His survivals are Guy Burke, Washington; Judd Burke, Flint Hill; Gabe Burke, Jr., Washington; Charles Burke of New Jersey; Asa Burke, Colorado; Raymond Burke, Alexandria; Isaiah Burke, Berryville, Mrs. Charles Shank, Mrs. Ora Roper of Philadelphia, Winston Burke of Staunton, Willis Burke of Washington, and a number of grandchildren;
Funeral services were held from Washington Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Lucus of Boyce. Interment was in the Masonic Cemetery of Washington. His grandsons, Moses Burke, Trenton Burke, Cletus Burke, Charles Burke, John Burke and Coleman Burke were active pallbearers. Friends and relatives carried the floral display.
