Barbara Woora
Two Virginia 4-H’ers put the 4-H motto-to make the best better-into practice and won 1963 state honors in the leadership program directed by the Cooperative Extension Service.
Winners were Barbara Woore, 21, of Clear Brook, and Lewis Williamson Jr., 21, of Crewe. Miss Woore attended the 42nd National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago the week after Thanksgiving, and Williamson received a citation in recognition of his leadership work. The program awards are sponsored by the Sears-Roebuck Foundation.
A senior at Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia, Miss Woore has completed eight years of 4-H work. She organized two new community clubs in Winchester and a 4-H Alumnae Club at Mary Washington College.
She has participated in the programs of dairy production, clothing, canning, freezing, recreation and home improvement.
