Recalls ‘Old Days’

After seeing the old picture la6t week of Baggarly’s Mill, W. C. Campbell reported that he was sure the white horse in the photo was one which fell over the bank, broke his back and had to be destroyed. This was about 50 years ago. The wagon crossing the stream was called the “greasy Wagon’ and carried food from the convict camp to the prisioners working on the road from Massies Corner to Washington, Va. Mr. Campbell was a highway engineer at the time.

We will have more old pictures next week.
