January 24 at 1 p.m. on Route 211 a mile from Sperryville at Atkins Service Station two vehicles collided. Douglas Franklin Ryder of Etlan operating a '51 Chevrolet pickup was making a left turn into the station and was struck by Darrell Dewayne Linville of Washington, D. C. Linville, operating a ’63 Ford, started to pass the truck. Mr. Buntin also investigated this accident Trooper Paul P. Dicks reported a traffic mishap January 21 near Hampton Inn on Route 211 near Washington. Charles Woodard operating a '55 Chevrolet owned by Edgar Lee Mitchell of Washington, struck a wagon loaded with hay pulled by a farm tractor operated by John R. Eubank of Washington. Woodward pulled out to pass the tractor and wagon. There was a vehicle coming the opposite direction, and as he pulled back into his lane, he skidded on wet pavement into the wagon. ,„The wagon and auto were demolished. Junior Woodard, a passenger in the car sustained a lacerated left hand. No one else was injured.
Men’s Day at ABC
Jerry Moore, a lay speaker of Culpeper, was guest at the morning service Sunday day at Amissville Baptist Church for a Men’s Day program. Others having a part in the service were Ralph H. Rowzie, Aubrey Curtis, William Printz and Jack James.
