Notice to the public NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 29-125 and 29-126 of the Code of Virginia, the Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries, meeting at Richmond, Virginia, January 22, 1965, ordered tha proposed change in its rules and will hold a Public Hearing for the purpose of adopting this proposed rule at Room 100, 7 North Second Street, Richmond, Virginia, 9:30 a.m. on February 20, 1965.
Amend Regulation 2 so as to make it lawful to hunt bearded turkeys only in the counties of Albemarle, Alleghany, Amelia, Amherst, Augusta, Bath, Bedford, Bland, Botetourt, Brunswick, Campbell, Caroline, Carroll, Charles City, Charlotte, Chesterfield, Craig, Culpeper, Dinwiddie, Essex, Fairfax, Fauquier, Floyd, Franklin, Giles, Grayson, Greene, Greensville, Hanover, Henrico, Henry, Highland, King George, Loudoun, Louisa, Lunenburg, Madison, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Nelson, New Kent, Nottoway, Change, Page, Patrick, Pittsylvania, Powhatan, Prince Edward, Prince George, Prince William, Rappahannock, Roanoke, Rockbridge, Rockingham, Southampton, Spotsylvania, Stafford, Surry, Sussex, Warren, Wythe and York, also in the counties of Smyth, Taxewell snd Washington except on Clinch Mountain and Hidden Valley Wildlife Management Areas, from April 24, 1965 to May 1, 1965, dates inclusive, from one-half hour before sunrise to 10 o’clock a.m. (Eastern Standard Time). Bearded turkeys shall be hunted by calling. It shall be unlawful to use dogs or organise drives for the purpose of hunting.
This shall become effective April 24, 1965.
