Well over 800 firms are listed, and it is apparent that the graduates have had a wide |choice--from railways, telejphone and electric companies to aircraft, furniture, chemijcal,
and insurance companies. ,Banks, finance companies, jarehitectural firms, and many
jothers are also well represented.
Top on the list is the Newport News Shipbuilding Dry Dock Co., which has hired 177 VPI graduates in the period of the study. Next is Dupont, E. I. de Nemours Co., Inc., which has
hired 115. Then comes General Electric, with 92,andHei cules Powder Co., with 82.
