One-Year-Old Joins
Historical Society
Last week a junior charter membership was issued to Miss Lorraine Lael Young Of Woodbridge and Castleton. She is the historic minded one year Old daughter of Doctor and Mrs. William H. Young, and obviously the youngest charter member of Rappahannock County Historical Society. But she is not the only one in her family dedicated to history Lorraine Lael has two brothers and a sister, Kevin Ian, twelve and Michael Loren, five, and Arianne Elise, age thirteen, all proud to be the first junior Charter members. Of course, their parents are charter members too, to round out the family research interest. Let us welcome them as well as congratulate them. To date over sixty charter memberships have been requested. All parts of the County are well represented. From out of the County T. Edwin Grimsley of Norfork, Grandson of Rev. Milton R. Grimsley who is buried at the Baptist Church in Washington, Prof. O. J. Hale of Charlottesville, Edw. J. Clopton of Baltimore, Roger P. Batchelder from Alexandria and Capt. and Mrs. Wm. J. Kelm USN, from McLean, all have ordered charter membership. Charter membership will remain open to anyone interested through February 8th. The next general meeting of -the Society is scheduled for February 8th, a Monday night at 8:00 o'clock in the Court House. This is the 132 anniversary of the founding of Rappahannock County. Some information on the establishment will be read from the records and the ten Committees will receive general information on how to proceed with their work. Mr. Ned Jones President, will preside.
