The special convention, held at the Hotel Roanoke in Roanoke, was called to consider the report of a special committee, appointed by VFBF President, Robert B. Delano, to study the program of Farm Bureau in Virginia with special emphasis on county Farm Bureau activity. Passed by a standing vote of 111 to 32, the program will expand Farm Bureau’s activity in Public Affairs, offer greater education al and informational programs^ provide finances for county Farm Bureau offices and expand and improve hospitalization covei*age for members. Plans were also revealed which will offer to county Farm Bureaus special programs in farm record-keeping and farm management, new credit programs, income tax assistance, legal I counsel and special programs of purchasing farm supplies where needed. The report of the committee adopted with one floor amendment. would inform memljers of "existing” economic services
and ^not duplicate or supplant" presently adequate services. The delegates voted an increase from $10 to $20 in annual membership dues. Proponents of the program assured the delegates that the new services would more than pay the increase in dues.
