Give To Colleges
Virginia Electric and Power Company and other electric utility companies in the Public Utilities Association of the Virginias have presented electric heat pumps for classroom use and research to four universities and colleges.
Miles Cary, Vepco vice president and former president of PUAV, presented a plaque to Lawrence R. Quarles dean, University of Virginia School of Engineering and Applied Science, to be installed near its heat pump. The plaque notes the gift from PUAV, an organization, of utility companies from the two Virginias. Similar plaques will be presented at the three other schools.
