The Rappahannock County ' Board of Supervisors held their June meeting at the courthouse, Washington on the 4th with Vice-Chairman H. B. Wood presiding in the absence of the Chairman. The first business on the agenda was the payment of livestock claims from the Dog fund. A petition signed by Howard Holschol, Murphy Reid, Walter W hart on and Stonewall Southard was submitted the Board requesting that a piece of road from Rock Mills to Red Oak be taken into the secondary road system. Road viewers were appointed to look into this matter. Sheriff Charles K. Estes discussed operating expenses of his office and the need of uniforms with the board members. Paul Poling of Amissville discussed the establishment of a four-day fire school for firemen from all companies in the county and requested that the county allocate $250 toward the school expense. Bible School Scheduled
At Chester Gap Mission
The Rev. Ralph J. Raspberry pastor of Chester Gap Baptist Mission, has announced the Vacation Bible School will be held at the church beginning June 21 and continuing through June 25. The sessions each day will be from 9 a.m. until 12 noon. All children from 3 to 17 years of age are invited to attend. Preparation day is scheduled for Friday, June 18 from 9 until 11 a.m. An excellent faculty has been secured to assure a successful school week.
