The marriage of Miss Frances Ruffner Wood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brereton Jones Wood of Flint Hill, to Mr. Edgar Davidson Charles, Jr. took place Saturday, June 5, 1965 at four o'clock in the afternoon in the Flint Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Charles is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Davidson Charles of Florence, South Carolina. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Myers McCown, of Florence and the late Mr. and Mrs. R. Keith Charles of Timmonsville. The marriage was perfromed by the Rev. Hugh McClure, III of Newport News. The church was decorated with lighted tapers and arrangements of snapdragons and gladiolii. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length gown of white silk organza with a lace bodice and portrait neckline with seed pearls. She wore a fingertip mantilla and carried a bouquet of gardenias and chrysanthemums.
Mrs. Timothy C. Anthony of Red Springs, North Carolina, a cousin of the bride, was Matron of Honor. Her gown was a watermelon pink silksoap
or detergent suds will wash such pots and pans clean without scouring.

Miss Margaret Flickinger, Home Service Council of Northern Virginia Power Company gave a training meeting on “Salad Styles for Every Meal" on June 1, at the Flint Hill firehall. Home Demonstration Club leaders from four clubs attended the meeting. These ladies will be responsible for presenting this demonstration to their local clubs in June and July. Home Demonstration Club meetings scheduled for this week are: Woodville, June 10, 2 p.m. with Misses Nellie and Lillie Johnson. Chester Gap, June 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Chester Gap firehall.
Flint Hill, June 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Flint Hill Firehall.
