Effective June 1st, Wayne L, McBee is serving as Assistant District Forester, Forest Fire Contfol, for the sixteen county northern Piedmont District which has its headquarters in Charlottesville. He replaces John V. Jackson, Jr. who has been transferred to Farmville as District Forester in that area McBee comes here from Martinsville. Originally employed as a service forester in the Salem District, he was promoted to Detached Service Forester in 1963. He has handled forestry watershed and other forestry work in Henry County to the present. Native of Philippi, West Va'., the new Assistant is 32, married, and has two children. He served with the U. S. Army in Korea until 1955 with the rank of Sergeant. He is a graduate of West Virginia Business College and obtained his B. S. in Forestry from West Virginia University in June, 1959.
