Area Manager
The Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company of Virginia announced this week the appointment of Anthony T. Reed as Area Manager for the Culpeper area. Mr. Reed succeeds Harry R. Lindsey who has been appointed Culpeper District Commercial Supervisor. This change is effective June 1, 1965. Mr. Lindsey was named Manager in Culpeper in 1957, and has been active in community affairs. Mr. Lindsey’s office and home will continue to be located in Culpeper. In Mr. Reed’s new assignment as Area Manager, he is responsible for the company’s operations in Culpeper, Madison, Criglersville, Sperryville, and the Shenandoah National Park. Mr. Reed, a native of England, graduated from Culpeper County High School. He began his/telephone career in Culpeper as a warehouseman in January of 1958. Since that time he has served in Winchester, Richmond, and Beckley, West Virginia, as a Communications Consultant, Accounting Manager and Sales Manager. Mr. Reed is married to the former Miss Jane Elizabeth Weaver of Culpeper. Mrs. Reed and their six year old daughter, Julie, expect to join Mr. Reed in Culpeper as sooni as moving arrangements are complete. Both Mr. and Mrs. Reed are members of St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Beckley, West Virginia.
