Mrs. Philip Irwin of Washington, D. C. and Rock Mills will leave Sunday by plane for a month’s visit with relatives in Copenhagen, Denmark. Mr. and Mrs. George Davis, Jr. were guests Tuesday of last week at “Mayor’s Night’ for dinner at the Wayside Inn and the drama “Mary, Mary’ at the Wayside Theatre in Middletown.
Mrs. Wade H. Massie, Jr. entertained a group of children Wednesday afternoon at her home in honor of the 7th birthday of her granddaughter Miss Mary Brooke Massie. Mrs. Bruce Bowie of Culpeper and Mrs. Charles G. Reid entertained at a buffet supper Monday evening at Rose Cottage. Their guests were Mrs. Quenton McCoy and son, Mr. and Mfrs. Leroy Hall and five children, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Miller, Miss Mary Miller Wood, Mrs. Downing Wood, Mary and Frances Wood Joe D. Keyser and Bruce Bowie. Miss Peggy Smoot has accepted a position of secretary at the Playtex plant in Dover, Delaware. Miss Smoot, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Smoot, is a 1963 graduate of Rappahannock County High School. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Armel of College Park, Md., Mrs. Ada Mellon, Mrs. Aubrey Leatherland and son Aubrey, Jr., Mrs. Carlton Painter and Joe Taylor of Alexandria were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Armel.
