U.Va. Highest Honors
Edgar Kay Browning, son of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Brown-* ing of Flint Hill, and a 1961 graduate of Rappahannock County High School, was awarded a B. A. degree, with highest distinction, from the University of Virginia on June 6, 1965. He was the recipient of the Duncan Clark Hyde Memorial Award in Economics.
During his four years at the university, Edgar was a consistent dean’s list student. His scholastic achievements include election to Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Eta Sigma, and Intermediate Honors. He was selected for membership in the Ford Foundation Three Year Masters Program, and was elected chairman of this group. He was awarded a Wood row Wilson Fellowship for graduate study. Edgar served as treasurer and president of his social fraternity, Pi Kappa Phi. He is spending the summer in Hartford, Conn., as a trainee in the actuarial department of the Travellers Insurance Company, and plans to do graduate work in Economics at Princeton University in the fall.

Receive Certificates
Diplomas were presented fifteen Washington Elementary School seventh grade graduates at commencement exercises held June 3. The Rev Charles Glaenzer made the address to the class and Mr. Irvin R. Kilby also spoke to the group. A welcome was extended the audience by Floyd Grigsby and Daniel Hitt presented gifts to the Class of 65. A look to the Future was seen through Wanda Silvey and Wade Massie told of the Objectives of the Class. Musical selections were presented by the class.
