cold morning light to have Been a pumpkin. Practical jokers are seldom practical and often they are the only ones to appreciate the joke. But this is not always so. In the small town where my aunt lived the annual Halloween ritual was to remove all the outhouses to the roofs of the barns during the night. Being a widow, my aunt had little chance of protecting her interests. fBut she began to note that after every Halloween her neighbor across the way, a Widower, always promptly offered to take it down and replace it on its foundation. To avoid this yearly annoyance, the widower suggested, they might be married and he would protect her forever. That very winter, my aunt conquered her dislike of progress, and installed a modern bathroom in her house, leaving the sad widower, I presume, high and dry.

High spirits to you! And remember, a head is like a Halloween pumpkin-- not much good without a light inside!
