Miss Lucy Catherine Bowie of Culpeper has assumed the position of Editor and general manager of the Madison County Eagle, a weekly newspaper with headquarters in Madison. She will step easily into the role for she has, been associated with various aspects of the newspaper profession for many years. It was Miss Bowie with her brother Bruce who established the Rappahannock News at Washington, Va. in 1949. Both the Rappahannock and Madison newspapers are owned by Green Publishers, Inc. of Orange. This corporation also owns the Greene County Record and the Orange Review, and all are printed at the parent plant in Orange.
Miss Bowie takes the position formerly held by Mrs. Mildred Beckman who resigned to join her husband and former co-worker,
