STOP ■ THINK - AND VOTE
Hie November election is upon us~the time which requires the unbiased and wise selection of officials to govern the five thousand odd citizens who populate Rappahannock County; a time in which petty dislikes, jelousy and personalities must be put aside so each voter can make the extremely important decisions necessary.
Officials for Rappahannock County, those on the grass roots level with whom we deal directly, will be chosen to govern us for the next four years. This is a crucial era in the history and development of Rappahannock County. The urban sprawl is reaching its tenacles in our direction and improved interstate and arterial highways are implementing its progress. Already evident are problems which accompany the sprawl, housing, traffic, drugs, larceny. We cannot turn our heads and think these conditions will go away.
It is important that issues be examined and candidates be considered thoroughly in order that wise selections be made. Foremost consideration must be given the integrity, common sense, education, background, ability and, fortitude of those presenting themselves as candidates. Minutely examine the qualifications of each before you make your X. With the increasing problems in a complex society, it is essential and it is mandatory that we elect persons capable of dealing with the problems; those who will not add to them. It is imperative to remember that you are not judging a personality contest, but electing officials who will reflect directly on each individual and on the entire county.
