Only twice since 1945 when the weather station was initiated has October realized more rainfall. In 1949 the month’s total was 5.95 and in 1959 it measured 7.24 for October. A weekend resident in Rappahannock said yesterday there had been seven weekends of rain, mist, clouds, fog or some inclement weather. Unfortunately that kind of weather does not encourage our city friends to join us for a while to enjoy the colors of the Blue Ridge.
