Yowell’s claim that the citizens trust in their representatives is being destroyed. This is “Cheap Political” talk (L. C. Yowell again). Don’t you 4.hink accusations of this seriousness should be specific, and name the offenders? issues has not bee mentioned in :he Rappahannock News. Dare I mention mobile homes? Thinking people realize that very few of our citizens want to take advantage of mobile home living in Rappahannock. Thinking people also realize that, while these few citizens might be happy setting up a trailer instead of building a small house, the rest of us would not be happy with the higher taxes that would result. I personally, would rather look at an unpainted shack than at a shiny new trailer and wouldn’t most of Us be happier if the potential trailer dweller invested in a small new house or better still, restored one of the many vacant homes in the County? As for the potential trailer dwellers who do not yet live in Rappahannock but would like to, who cares? The taxpayers of Rappahannock do care if their taxes go up and we are all taxpayers, including those who rent. Any deterioration in our zoning law would mean that many more residents, and these extra residents would mean more money to a few merchants and subdividers and conversely, mean deteriorating living standards along with higher taxes for all. Furthermore, on the basis of backbone and forthrightness, alone. I think all four of the candidates that answered the R. L. E. P. questions deserve to win by a landslide!
